Groupon deal

Just rang T-Mobile and spoke to them about this. I've only been using Groupon for 3 days so haven't actually used it for anything yet.

Anyway, I've gone for it and it's coming tomorrow

So how do this work?

I presume you pay Groupon £28, they then email you a voucher. You then have to call T-Mobile and give them the details?

What happens if you fail the credit check or T-Mobile don't have any stock left? Can you get a refund from Groupon?

I rang them to discuss first and got put through to sales. There was no credit check for me as I already have 3 lines with them and am allowed up to 5.
She has basically processed my order which will be delivered tomorrow and I've had to pay the £15 to Groupon.
Groupon will issue me with a voucher at some point and the T Mob girl is calling back tomorrow to get the voucher code from me.

The deal is as per the ad:

£15 for the Galaxy Tab
£15 a month for 24 months line rental which includes:
1gb peak time data, 1gb off peak data (midnight-10am), 100 mins, 100 txts.

Ordered this, turning up Saturday morning. Existing customer, so it's cheap as chips.

Not bothered about size or lack of Honeycomb and it's got a good Spousal Acceptance Factor, so that's a win too.

Think I'll give this a miss. Whilst the contract is cheap I already have a contract with Vodafone so no real need to spend £15 per month for the next 2 years for the phone.

Makes more sense for me to just get rid of the iPhone and buy an Omnia and use my existing Vodafone sim in it.

Well it arrived at 1030 this morn and I've just been having a play with it.

Initial impressions are very good. I already own a HTC Desire so am used to Android and all it brings.
I must say the Samsung UI is bloody awful and each icon in the main menu looks much the same making it difficult to differentiate between them. I much prefer the HTC look, ie default Android.
My mobile is due for upgrade on June 30th and Samsungs Disney look has kinda confirmed for me that I'll be getting a HTC Sensation and not an SGS2.
Edit: I've just installed Go Launcher EX as I use that on my Desire as well. I didn't realise it gets rid of the Samsung look altogether so thats that sorted.

Anyway, the Tab.
Very fluid between screens but another dislike, all be it small is that screen 1 on the far left is set as the default homepage. On my Desire, the homepage is the centre screen, screen 3. Everything looks great on the screen esp when it's at full brightness but for now I've left it set on auto.
The bundled wallpaper is nice and clear but I can't seem to get any downloaded wallpapers to look as good. Will have to look into that.

The gyro sensor is very sensitive meaning the screen rotates with every slight tilt. I had read about this but it's easily resolved by turning on the orientation lock which is accessed by swiping the info bar down.

The charger is USB at the mains end but is a long thin connector at the Tab end. Yet another charger I've got to haul around.

Web browsing is great and just as easy if not easier than the Desire.

The sound is pretty good from the speakers but I've yet to use it for anything another than a brief Youtube vid.

I can't be arsed to write anything more, I've got a banging toothache but fire away with any questions :)

The toothache or the Tab? The toothache is yours for 10p and I'll throw in a box of painkillers ;)

The tab... I'm keeping it :p

Lol, the toothache you can keep, same with the tab, I thought you were talking about the Omnia deal

Hope you get your toothache sorted soon, nothing worse when your at or approaching the w/end!!

The HTC look is not default Android. They put their own tweaks on top. It is called "HTC Sense".
