Go android tbh. Iphone is a big waste of money, like most apple stuff. I know someone who worked as a tester for Apple just before the last iphone come out, it was pretty much bodged on the last minute which is why is has so many problems.

Loving your apple vendetta with unfounded facts!

So many problems? Mine's been faultless from the get go. If Apple can 'bodge' it and make the best phone on the market then other companies should be really worried after 12 months of R&D :p

It's taken 10 months from the iP4 release for a real competitor in the form of the SGS2, assuming its battery lasts more than 12 hours anyway.

Lots of rumours coming out today that we are looking at a September launch for the iPhone 5/4.5

Hopefully my trustly 3Gs can hold out till then.

LOL just LOL....yeh sure fella, bodged on at the last minute...just like a fisher price toy phone isnt it??.

Android is good but not even close to the simplicity that the iphone affords people...how many 5 yr olds do u know that can pick up an Android handset and start playing with it??...my friends 5 yr old boy picks up my iphone and downloads plenty of games without completely screwing up my phone up.

Same here, my 18 month contract on the 3GS ended in Feb so I've held off until knowing more about their new model so I can compare to the others around.

At least 3GS are still useable.

Spare at thought for those of us who are still waiting to upgrade from the 3G!

If Apple do only have a mini refresh planned then it could be a bit of a disaster for then. There are so many well specced android phones out this summer. Especially the Samsung galaxy S2. Maybe thats why Apple are suing them

whats so well specced about it ? dual core ? an iphone 'refresh' would likely have the dual core A5.

theyre suing them because they completley copies apples patented design. as soon as the galaxy was announced everyone had names it an iphone copy

Being honest, everyone i know went "Oh god, it looks / feels like an Iphone!"
Which, even though Samsung deny it, it was designed to be like,

That would be me. I want it to have higher specs than the 4, but still be in the same design. I've lusted after it for a year now with different people I know at work having it. :(

Ditto... The 3G is so painful on 4.0 but I can't really be bothered to strip it back to 3.0 and fear half my apps wouldn't work.

Actually there was quite a good article on the BBC yesterday about all the suing and counter suing going on between manufacturers.

Most of it is not really down to the patents and actually enforcing them, but simply holding up your competitors in what is such a competitive industry.

It amazes me how fixated people are about phone hardware. I am pretty certain that 1000's hours have gone into deciding the sizes chosen for the touchscreens and would be super surprised if we saw a bigger / dramatically changed form factor.

It's all about the software and innovating how a user interacts with the blank "canvas" of a screen. I'd be more disappointed if there isn't something special in iOS 5, over any lack of significant updates to the iPhone hardware.

At the end of the day Apples way is improvement through constant iteration and refinement. How long has windows 7 phone 7 phone 7 been out and how many software updates have been issued to all windows 7 phones? How long does it take for updates to come to android phones? Some don't even get the little updates.

They won't. Too small of an area to drag down from, for the finger. Its only 20px in height and the HIG recommends that elements should be min 40px. I'd like to see them use the dead space below the spotlight search bar.

Well, they'll do something as a lot of people want the notification handling system improving as its a bit old fashioned now, even though it does the job.

I hope so too, like I said below the spotlight search bar seems ideal. Either way I can't see the UIAlertView's being ditched entirely and it certainly won't be a system which is too complicated for less technical users to understand.

From a developers point of view i'd like to see a better system for sending data between apps. We have the beginnings of it already but it needs to be far more widespread.

The irony is, if Apple succeed, so do Samsung. Apple bought $5.7billion worth of components off Samsung last year. I'll be very interested to see how this one plays out.

Wouldn't it be nice if this is real...

iPhone 5 home button is enlarged to support gestures and has the teardrop shape similar to macbook air. Not to mention edge to edge screen
