I think its probably more to do with his posting child pornography than trolling dead people.
I'm guessing this had a bigger effect on his sentencing (12 months in prison, not 36) than the trolling did.Hampson, of Tarragindi, on Brisbane's southside, pleaded guilty to...one [count] each of distributing and possessing child exploitation material - meaning child pornography - between February 14 and June 4 last year.
Not at all. Defacing a grave or monument constitutes criminal damage.Sounds fair. What he did was pretty sick. Same as defacing a grave / monument.

Depends how they're defining it though; "Prosecutors said Hampson posted photographs of one victim with a penis drawn near their mouth". It's weird and wrong, but that kind of thing shouldn't really class as any kind of pornography.
Yep, looks like he's being charged with distribution of child pornography because he drew penises next to their pictures.
He must have only used six proxies.
Think a prison sentence is a bit harsh though, a booting would surely be a more appropriate judicial punishment.
Prison is what he deserves if he posted child porn!
If he just drew a dick next to a kid in MS paint or something then jail is way too harsh. Maybe a £1,000 fine?
Personally I think he got off light.
