Its not just iPhones though, any GSM phone can be tracked. That the iPhone leaves a breadcrum trail is hardly omgprivacyinvasion.

Yes you can track in real time but this one leaves behind a trail which is the naughty bit.

only slightly the file is not transmitted to apple, so apple don't know where you have been. It is only available if someone steals you phone and downloads the file, then I would be much more worried about my passwords and emais than details of where I have been.

It's not great but far to much over reaction, if it Transmitted back to apple that would be different, but would anyone care. Just look at things like loyalty cards.

However saying that II hope like google they are forced to change though, with an opt out or similar.

Downloads software to see where i've been. it's mac software and I cant be bothered with the manual way, far to long winded.

Wonder how many cheating partners will be caught out with this or something to the same effect!

Can't be hard to create an app to make this user-trackable surely? Though you'd probably need to have a jailbroken iPhone as I can't see Apple allowing such an app on their store. Then again, depending how it was marketed...

There are plenty of apps that do this already (at least on Android), the difference with those is that you know they are doing it. But I guess you knew that and you're just trolling.

EDIT: There are now apps available to show where you've been, using this hidden Apple data.
