I'm getting back into gaming after 2 years out (not by choice!) and need to put together a reasonably priced gaming box.

I don't plan to overclock so will the retail HSF be fine?

I also took advantage of the RAM offer yesterday and picked up

1x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9)

P67 boards will allow you to overclock a K series CPU, whereas the H67 boards don't. The P67 chipset will disable the on-board graphics, but that shouldn't be an issue in a gaming rig.

This is the cheapest P67 board that will run 1600MHz RAM, but it won't do symmetrical Crossfire (if you ever need it).

... actually, that memory is not on their list of supported modules. Anyone know if it will work?

Unfortunately i've had to hold off buying the PC since creating this thread. As prices have changed over the last few months i've slightly tweaked my build.

I'm open to any suggestions? As before I already have memory and a hard drive for the build and will not be looking to overclock.

Cheers.

No point in K series unless you have a P67/Z68 chipset.

Antec 100 is cheaper and imo better.

Larger, better PSU for pennies more: here. Might just get away with CF with it as well.
