What is it with rubbish TV?

Most people who emigrate end up completely missing the BBC,as well as quite a lot of foreigners who would happily pay for I player access.
TV is bad, but it could be a whole lot worse, just have a look at Fox news or the constant ad breaks on American TV.

The BBC is tailored at the average user, obviously you don't fit into it like many people posting on here.

Personally I don't let such trivial things annoy me. If something comes on which does annoy me, I turn it over, or off. I find life is much easier that way.

And most stuff is videoed then fast forward though adverts.

Also massive difference between a tablet and an old brick phone, one is meant to be large and is not meant to fit in your pocket.
Oh and most annoying tv adds aren't technology but stupid song ones, go compare, webuyanycar and so on.

The BBC especially has gone downhill, other tv channels seem to manage without putting the news on 6x a day as filler and they aren't even funded by the tv license.

Where have the interesting documentaries gone i mean there used be loads of good documentaries a week now across i player,4od,channel 5 theres almost nothing new at all talk about dumbing things down :( .

Anyone else think TV is utter rubbish or just me

No.

At the moment I'm watching live football but just before that I was watching a documentary about MegaFactories featuring Rolls Royce - brilliant.
Last night I was watching Ultimate Factories Coca Cola & Jack Daniels - superb TV.
Earlier today I was also watching a documentary on Deep Purple - fantastic TV.
Later on I have a choice to watch BBC the Gene Code, Filthy Cities (superb), Weirdest Dinosaurs, Megafactories Ferrari or Porsche or Caterpillar or Bentley or Maserati or BMW, oh and Ancient Secrets China's Lost Pyramids.
You obviously don't know where to look.

Yeah TV is dying, no decent series on at the moment..
Saying that Britain's got talents just started hasn't it :)

Spartacus gods of the arena, mythbusters, masterchef, great British menu, V, Russell howards good news, stargate universe, American dad(new ones), F1, new doctor who next week. Then all the random stuff on discovery and good food channel.
Tbh tv at the moment isn't bad. Oh and also the wire, missed it first time round.

I just tune into G.D :)

This is me. :D

I cannot stand TV any more. It gets my goat in a way, as a while back I was Mr Materialist and had to have the best TV, amplifier, speakers, bluray etc etc.
Now it's all sat behind me gathering dust, it only gets switched on to play the odd bluray movie when mates come round.

I'm quite interested in "Real life" stuff though, but by that I don't mean "reality TV". I mean documentaries like Oceans, Blue planet, Life, Wonders, Michael Palin, hugh whittingstall, Jamie Oliver.... I'm struggling to think of any more. :(
That's how bad it is.

I'd don't think there has been a single day when I've not been on here at some point :o
Addicted much.

The tv channels create more and more +1 or bbc2 bbc3 itv1 itv2 ect that they spread the money around to thin = quantity over quality. So now tv if full or repeats or cheap crap.

Stargate Universe has been cancelled, there will be no Series 3.

V is on a knife edge though it's looking like it will be cancelled, and again, no Series 3.
