Motherboard choice for i5 2500k, confused.

The XFX 650w will be fine yeah. It's just the Antec compared to other 750w models is really good value, and there's no skimp on the quality. Antec are top end PSU's, they use Seasonic, as do Corsair and XFX.

And, correct if i'm wrong people, but a 750w PSU will be running closer to the 50%/60% efficiency range, which is when PSU's are at there best. :)

Interesting, I guess ill stick with the XFX, unless anyone else comes in and hurts my mind further! :D

This is how i've got it now. I'm still confused on cases but Fractal seems great, however now i'm stuck between the R3 and the XL!! Aaaah!!!

Got rid of bluray drive and now added a rather cheap but looking great drive as I don't have a writer since I burnt out my previous one leaving just a shoddy old dvd drive in my PC!

You know how it is.. I've still got quite a few days left before I have the money and the sale ends so my mind might change further.. but what does everyone think so far? Any further suggestions?

I don't think I can do any better with the motherboard, processor and RAM, so the only debated parts could be the cooling and case :)

Thanks all again.. I'll be sure to post pics when this finally happens as i'tl be my first ever from scratch build so

Looks spot on, the machine will fly.

You'll be fine, think of it as giant lego for kids. :)

Yeah :D. Well i've been using PCs myself for 10+ years and done my own upgrading, everything except putting a MB and CPU in from scratch and plugging up the case!

Theres guides on these great forums anyway isn't there? :)

Regarding the thoughts on fans, is the Antec Kúhler H2O 620 CPU Watercooler worth it?? I've read good things about it, but compared to a CPU fan and heatsink at similiar prices? I want to OC this to be close to the OC bundle OCUK offer at 4ghz.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Whack a second fan on it for push/pull, depending on where you're gonna mount it, and it'll be extremely good value for money. http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=694&Itemid=62

I'm using one in an Antec 1200 case, mounted in the top front, using the case fan as the push, and the Kuhler fan internally as a pull. Quiet, and chilly. :) (You can easily get 4.5-4.6 out of it no problem.)

Awesome. Do you have a pic or is there a guide of doing a similiar setup?
I've not seen it yet apart from reviews but I believe its a 120mm or 140mm fan which you attach to the radiator on the rear chasis next to the CPU with the other bit attached to the CPU?

So what you're saying is use two fans instead of the one? or use another elseware in case to work in conjunction with it, flowing in a particular direction?

Apologies for my lack of know how. I've not fully built a PC before and not really managed my airflow from scratch :)

Thanks for your help and checking out the link!

Getting there.. Should be ordering later tonight or tomorrow, no turning back!

Done some researching on the motherboard to reassure myself.. Seems all good!

Got a bit worried about the case again and then didn't care and knew I wouldn't find better

Now my only issue is the ram, not the quality or performance but how blue it is :D With the mainly all black case and MB it will look pretty weird! But... I don't have a window who cares.

Only further irritating seeing the other ram with nice black casing (heat sinks?) and even other Ripsaw ram that is black... Why blue on these ones? WHY?!

But then again i'm just joking around.. mostly.
