Is PSN under attack? - PSN now back up 15/05

Well i've been struggling to sign in today, comes back with error 80710a06. First bit of trouble i've had with it. It's auto signed in all the time, think I'm going to dig the xbox out.

huh? if you buy it on ps3 does that mean you get it on steam too?

Yup, but you have to put the disc in your ps3 first and link your steam and psn accounts. So a big no go for anyone at the mo as psn has been out of action all day. Bet valve are peeved their big launch has been terminally done in....

If its hackers again I cant think of a better time ever to bring down PSN unfortunately, but I dno how it helps their cause one bit though...

ps3ud0

this is getting to be a massive joke. i havent been able to log into psn for the past 4 days, i thought it was my wifi router so i borrowed a friends and got the same thing.

glad i found this thread before i took my play station back to the store lol.

Christ...

I wish they would at least give you some sort of coherent message like 'PSN is down due to maintenance' or whatever, instead you get a code (80710A06) and that's it.

Anyone know when it'll be up?

I'm wondering if it's a 360 fanboi splinter group of Anonymous using the Geohot issue as a tenuous excuse to gleefully ruin the gaming of PS3 users.
I did wonder if that might happen tbh, the previous attacks basically showed them how to go about doing it.

an update for you all from Sony

"While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we’re able to get the service completely back up and running. Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter. Please stay tuned to this space for more details, and we’ll update you again as soon as we can."

I'm going for the Valour Grand Cross Trophy too (be in the top 1% players in the world for a whole week), what perfect bloody timing. :(

Would just be my luck that this would happen. Hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

It's the little old Japanese cleaning lady who unplugged the datacenter router in order to plug in her hoover. :D
