Long distance cycling, in the city me and my friend are hoping to do a long distance cycle hoping to last the day - we are thinking of supplies, to take bare in mind it be for a day i think we have covered the basics:
Drink
Food
Pump
Inner tube's(3 emergency)
tools
(Personally MYSELF i am taking a protein shake cos i do weight lifting)
Mobiles

Have i missed anything: It be a lovely day why not XD

You'll probably want a bike if your going to be doing some cycling.

....I'm sorry I'll return to GD now.

I'd say your wallet but thats probably a given as well, also you will be in the city so shouldn't have to many problems if you do forget anything as you seem to have all the major things covered and if you have any problems there will be somewhere near by that can help you sort it out.

Lights, electrolyte tabs and cash are the only things I can think of that are missing from your list.

Edit: Yeah, I'd also take the smallest waterproof I could find.

3 tubes might be a little excessive?

I generally ride with 1 tube spare for quick swapover on first puncture, and then a repair kit incase anything else occurs. While you're finding your 2nd puncture, the theory is that the glue is drying on your first punctured tube.

Only other thing I can add is to make sure you take suitable clothing for the conditions of the day.

And if you're cycling in the next day or 2 - suncream! Do the backs of your arms/shoulders where they face up to the sun. Fail to do this, and you'll wish you had. :)

Haha it's one day! I've literally cycled across continents with less than 3 inner tubes and a tool set. You're never going to be more than a few minutes from somewhere to fix a bike in the UK so I'd just take my phone/wallet and be done with it. Maybe a single tube and co2 inflater if I'm feeling crazy.

I always carry at least one tube, tyre levers and a pump even on my commute to work. Sod having to walk 5+ miles pushing the bike for the sake of a few hundred grams!

If you're in the city I'd be tempted not to bother taking food and find somewhere nice to sit down and eat! Does mean taking locks though which are heavier, but on a long ride a cake stop is glorious for boosting energy :D

I never bother with more than 1 spare tube, even on 100 milers, a puncture repair kit is a simpler option, and have never (yet) had to resort to it.

A phone just in case, a sram powerlink umm as said suncream as you will burn if out for a while, spare bolts for your cleats should you be using spd's

A co2 inflator though not vital i find very useful for long rides, saves wearing yourself out, bontrager do a good one real small, and reliable.

Thats completely different tho, to cycle huge distances like that you'd need to think about reducing baggage as much as possible. For one days riding, take 3 tubes if you have space for them. You wont notice the extra weight but might end up regretting it if you leave them at home.

Same goes for food as well, take more than you think you'll need.
