just had a computer setup and in frustration i whacked the power plug while it was plugged in, bending the power socket out of place, turned on and to my HORROR, smelt burning, turned off then on and left running for 5 minuites, no visible sparking as far as i could see, its powered off now,

chances that ive damaged other components? such as my £400 quid gpu?

You should hopefully be fine, it may of been a bad connection were you damaged th plug and got a little to warm.

ouch, bummer :/ how comes you turned it back on anyway lol? if you smelt burning i'd fix it -.- but i imagine the GPU's okay, depends on anything else thats fried, IE mobo cpu etc, if they are theres a chance the GPU's dead to :O

any chance at all i could try and bent it back into shape from the inside? i assume the burning was capacitators being overloaded and i need a new psu..

i turned it on in the hope the psu was a soldier and wanted to carry on

this is not meant to be a troll statement, but dude going by what i'm seeing in your previous threads you need to step away from pc building, you just aint having any luck at all...I'm genuinely starting to fear for you!!

Mine blew up too. ****ing scared me, I thought my whole system went.

Arn't there any reliable PSUs out there? Bc there arn't in my experience ):

Some are better than others. Anything that uses Seasonic as an OEM is bound to be decent.

Agreed, step away from the pc and take your time. Looking at your spec you don't have a limitless budget, GTX580 excepted and I guess you can't afford to kill that? Any friends that can help you out?

well im going to assume i need a new 1, i was looking at a psu in the repair shop called a powercool? they could fit it straight away as i wouldnt have to order one, anyone know if these are decent?

i THINK it was called power cool, something with the word power in it anywho

I guess you want to smell burning again, no?

Buy another Corsair and use less rage.

People won't reccomend you getting a no name PSU, personally i would'nt trust my expensive hardware to a cheap psu.

And you don't seem to have the patience for PC building judging from your pervious threads so i would let someone else build it or at least help.

ok, i kindof feel like getting a psu of the same quality but not a corsair with the same price range as a 850w corsair, just to have something different to unbox (yes, sad)

unless ofcourse corsair is the pwnage of psu's and i should just get another...

I have both the HX450 and HX750 and can't fault either of them, they have both been rock solid since the day I got them.
