Microsoft Game Studios publishing on Steam - Has hell froze over / Pigs grew wings?

I can't say i care. Played through Halo Reach over christmas (twice). Storyline is nothing to write home about and once you up the difficulty all you do is snipe and abuse the crappy AI. Taking on Zealots is a waste of time as they will almost always kill you before you kill them. Multiplayer was a joke too, you spent most the time letting autoaim do the work for you, other than that it was dull. Doubt it differs all that much from the other Halo's... Not an experience you couldn't get better from existing games.

Maybe it's just an experiment. They have no idea how many units sell on Steam because they haven't partnered with Valve until now and we all know Valve only releases sales figures to their partners for only their specific titles. So perhaps they're gauging to see how well Fable III sells on Steam vs GfWL. They'll have access to both figures. Is the offer of Fable I enough to tempt more people to buy on GfWL or will it flop?

Maybe when the results are in, they'll think about ditching the GfWL Marketplace. :D

Ah the good old '5 per month' SecuROM which makes you wonder what the hell they even include it for at all...

Especially as it'll probably use GFWL SSA authentication which will lock it to a GFWL account anyway. So that's 3 DRMs stacked together - Steam, GFWL, and Securom. Why do they bother?

No. Thanks for the rolleyes though. I now realise I must be a complete idiot for having never heard the term before outwith Starcraft.

Well perhaps you should do a little bit of research before accusing a company of plagiarism!! It's not like it's an obscure term

The weird thing is Fable III is £34.99 on GfWL and Fable I is £4.99, whereas on Steam Fable III is £29.99. So you could get Fable III on Steam and Fable I on GfWL for the same price. LOL.

Its fair to say that GFWL is run at the very top by total idiots who do not have a clue at all its so pathetic the way they run it. I only like the LIVE achievements & some co-op games the rest I could not care less for!

When MS cannot even sell their own game on the GFWMarketplace for a decent price & offer the Fable3 exclusives outside US (yep that's right US GFWM has a different offer just like they gave away Gears Of War to Bulletstorm buyers in the US only & just like they sell EA games to US only).

I doubt GFWMarketplace will be around much longer as it seems to be doing everything it possibly can to commit commercial suicide & releasing Fable3 day & date with The Witcher2 will also only end one way :( MS need to either take the PC seriously or get out as Fable3, AOEOnline, Flight X are not PC games which will do well even if they all had full DX11+Steamworks most PC gamers will be uninterested regardless!

Its unfortunate but as an experiment for the PC, Fable 3 doesnt have a great chance.
Not only do the 360 reviews and feedback call it the worst of the series, but its launching against Witcher2 which has much better reviews and targets a similar gaming demographic.

Silly move, they should have tried to release a few weeks earlier.
