New banner?

Nah, i'll let him off, nobody wants to imagine their daddy laundering illicit material for their own personal use ;)

I would be interested to know what form these 'warnings' took though...

Incidentally, i'm back baby! Would have been sooner but i was switching ISP from Virgin to O2, Virgin switched off early so we were left up the creek without a paddle... or a boat. On the plus side it's almost ten times faster now, just need a half decent PC and i can be a proper tech enthusiast. Oh wait, nobody cares.

I imagine your return may be short lived after that comment.

How is being arrested for "breach of the peace" which is an arrestable offence, the same as arresting someone for no reason whatsoever?

Because "breach of the peace" is a completely meaningless phrase. Or at least, it essentially means whatever the officer at any given time wants it to mean.

Besides, what peace? Take Egypt before the uprising, a dictatorship with countless people suffering at the hands of some extremely rich few. But for the most part it was peaceful. Are you saying it was wrong to 'breach' this peace?

The protests were meant to be peaceful iirc.

Give it up, you can be arrested for breaching the peace, and none of your dappy nonsense can alter that fact, we don't live in Egypt and you know exactly what it means, just in case you don't:

Going to go out on a limb but I'm guessing the closest super has come to being arrested is when the nice policeman last visited his school to talk to them about bicycle safety.

I never said that, nor anything that could lead anybody to believe that i thought anything like that. In fact i believe i said that i loved it ;)

I love that, it's like saying "well, you haven't broken any laws, but we're going to arrest you anyway". That or they can't remember the law ;)

I think you need a little shut-eye......I know it's not a school-night, but it is mighty late for a young 'un.:p

Hey, i'm nocturnal, i do my best work at night. I mean, it's too hot for me to be bothered, but still... you got to the stage where you fall asleep infront of the telly yet? :p

Still, i never said that you couldn't be arrested because of a breach of the peace

What are you babbling about?

I never said you did, what you did do however is imply that it wasn't a "real" offence and that it was simply something the Police make up as an excuse to arrest innocent people.

Oh, i'm sorry, i thought we were making age related jibes here? :)

And?

In relation to other 'offences', roughly how many people who are arrested because of a 'breach of the peace' are actually charged with anything?

Many are released when they have cooled down or sobered up.

No criminal record and words of advice from the custody sgt. Not a bad deal and hardly the police state legislation that some suggest.

Peach of the police perhaps ?

Well you do have a fantastic ass :o
