Audi TT - no 1st, 2nd or reverse gear

Not just gear linking need resetting is it? Quite common on Golfs, not too clue'd up on TT's but similar maybe...

This is how it works on the Golf box like my own, just a thought:

Thanks for the help folks

The problem is internal to the gearbox, the box has been removed and it's off to the gearbox fixing folks to be looked at tomorrow

not sure at moment

at a guess I would go with about £300 for the rebuild and £400 ish for the removal / refit then fluids etc so reckoning on £7-800 :(

Horrible aint it, and nothing to show, you just end up back where you started again with a working car.

yep, seems just like throwing the cash away, loads of better stuff I could have spent it on

does my estimate seem reasonable ? garage labour rate is chesp ( around 35-40 p.h.)

I cant help thinking you got off cheap as long as they do it right.

Thats my guess rather than any quote

8 hours labour + around 300 for gearbox repair + sundries

hope I am about right :(

Make sure you agree a price on the repair before they get going once they have a chance to see the damage.

I have dealt with the garage a few times and know them well, if the box repair costs loads then I will go down recon box route, they seem to be £400-500

the garage says repairing box is always best bet both in terms of cost and in terms of knowing what you are getting

Expensive to get the box out, but it could be a PITA to remove.

But that is very cheap to recon the box, what will they be replacing, just the broken part/s?
