Might be going to look at an E46

Yeah, does seem a bit odd, will check it with the service history to see what is what.

It appears cruise can be retrofitted to some but not all models?

Edit - the service 2 was at 134k so at some point in 2007.

It appears to have hardly moved for 2 years. How weird, and to then do 800 quid of work on it?

At least the bloke selling it aint skint.

So its not just had km inspection 2 at all.

The servicing is yearly on low miles cars so It's nearly due another inspection 2 and should have had 2 oil services and an inspection 1 since 2007.

Well he didn't say it has "just had it" I assumed that because of the mileage, but it looks as though I was wrong to do so.

Do you happen to know the mileage recommendations for insp 1 and 2 Fox?

He said the car computer suggests another 10k until the next service.

We will find out tomorrow I guess!

He said it has loads of paper work with it and the chap was pretty attached to the car so I see no reason why he would not have had it serviced as he had done since new.

It's hardly at a price and mileage worth bothering to clock it though?

Will have a look at how worn the interior etc is.

Now it isn't, but he could have been clocking it for the last five years, and instead of a 140k car it's a 200k car. How interested would you be if it had 200k on it? I'm not saying it is clocked, just there would have definitely been merit in doing so from the owner's perspective.

The cynic in me always thinks that too.

Anyway go and have a look Sigma it was it is when you see it :)

I'd probably still be interested at 200k to be honest. More concerned about the history than the mileage.

Also, would you make it *that* obvious by clocking it? Suppose you don't know what is going on in some people's heads.

Will do DM, I'd have thought a 200k car would be pretty easy to spot, although you never know.

2 points to remember there, as Fox said not all interiors wear badly and second, when all is said and done who gives a monkeys if its really done 300k if it drives alright and looks alright at this price it is alright.

True, it's definitely not a long term car, I just want something a bit nicer/bigger than a Fiesta as I will be doing more driving in the near future but I don't want/need to spend much at all.

The best way to test the clutch will be to whack it in 4th at say 25mph?

Will obviously listen to it whilst idling after the test drive too and ensure all is ok.

I am taking my trolley jack as well as a back up.

Honestly you'd never believe my missus' 325i had done 150k.

Spanner thrown in the works now, I've been offered an Mx-5 for next to nothing... I will go and see this tomorrow anyway and see what's what.
