Antec 300 + sli?

Hi guys,

Will be getting my second 5870 to put in crossfire on Sat ie tomorrow, would it really be silly putting a second 5870 in an antec 300?

It is rather compact as most of you know, also the PSU fan faces upwards as theres no downward vent but the case is very well ventilated.

It will fit, I think but it just means that theres two inches between the second gfx card and the PSU fan.

Am i looking at causing myself something fatal here or.....

That seems like a very tight squeeze, especially with all the cables and etc throughout the case.

Aye thats what I thought, been googling other people appear to be doing it.

But will try get a bigger case I think as it doesn't look ideal long term.

You could remove the hard-drive area and it should be fine! Someone on here has done this mod and the space is greatly improved.

I had my psu facing downwards in my antec 300. There is about a half inch gap when you do it this way and never had any problems..

So the fan on the bottom is just facing the bottom of the case with no where to go?

It sucks air in from around the bottom of the case.

Sorry mate, not following- are you meaning there is space under the psu or does the fan go directly onto the metal on the bottom of the case?

A 'small' space isn't good enough is it? I would recommend that you flip that around!

I no longer have that PC and the space is more than big enough not to restrict airflow.
