New Truck

Are you a builder?

I've built a couple of kit cars and used the L200 to tow, collect Chevy V8's and collect donor cars etc. Now that I've done with that I wanted something slightly more modern but as capable for towing and good in 'bad weather' (The L200 was awesome in the snow). It's only going to be used as a second car to the S-Max with the Mustang as second reserve. The truck is great on the road as everyone thinks you're a business user and that you don't care about the car so they get out of your way ;)

I got back a couple of hours ago after a noisy 90 mile drive around the M25 in the L200 and an exceptionally quiet and comfortable 90 miles back in the Navara. The fuel tank takes over £100 worth but it averaged 30mpg on the way back on the M25 in rush hour. So far I'm very pleased.

My dad has a automatic aventura, we have heard some horror stories about people with manuals and the clutch's going on them all the time, we have had both front wheel bearings go before it had 40000 miles on it, Nissan wanted £700 including parts per wheel bearing, but we managed to source one for £200 as another company has started making them but could not get a second one as apparently they cant make enough

I quite like these. I wish my dad had listened to me and bought one instead of his L200 which has been a pain in the backside.

I didn't realise you were in T.Wells. :) I haven't seen your Mustang around here yet. :(

The L200 was OK for what it was but seriously underpowered, 113bhp whereas the Navara is 169. Also a change of use it will be used more for fun than the L200 that was a workhorse, just sitting behind people on the M25 was enough fun, people seem to take much morre notice of things like this behind them ;)

The Mustang hasn't been out much, I had a major operation just after I bought it and the weather was atrocious over the winter. It visits B&Q a bit when the traffic isn't silly around Longfield Road. Plus the odd trip to garden centres.

Meh. disappointing. :(

Sorry guys but -

A truck or lorry is a motor vehicle designed to transport cargo. Trucks vary greatly in size, power and configuration, with the smallest being mechanically similar to an automobile. Commercial trucks can be very large and powerful, and may be configured to mount specialized equipment, such as in the case of fire trucks and concrete mixers and suction excavators. Modern trucks are powered by either gasoline or diesel engines, with diesel dominant in commercial applications.

My Navara is a truck.

My Navara is a truck.

My 44t Gross plated Scania R440 is unquestionably a truck.

Somebody here has it wrong.....

If we both travel down a dual carriageway, are people going to think "Oooh! a truck & a lorry" ?

Naah. - I don't but it.

You have a 4x4 pickup, but its no truck. :p :D:D:D
