is this only in bad company 2? n after how long of playing does it usualy occur?

i get crashes in bc2 from overheating issues on my gpu, no blue screens tho (touch wood) do get the occasional whitescreen from bc2
although i use a 9800gt so...

i did notice tho after a driver update instead of white screens id get driver errors casuing the display driver to restart maybe try a diferent driver?

although id wait for one of these wize forum guru's to answer, they know more than me :)

Only for Bad Company 2 mate, usually happends like 5 minutes into the gameplay, I've tried it on the lowest settings and it still crashes, I really don't think its GFX problem because I'm playing games like Crysis on max settings.

Give us a shot of CPU-Z and GPU-Z?

Also, try a full run of prime95 or similar stress test to check if it BSODs. Highly likely it will BSOD if it's a hardware settings issue using that. Also, many games patches cause random issues with drivers etc, try older versions (one or two versions back) and see if it sorts it.

The BSOD states that it's hardware but I don't know what, I can't go to an older version of the game or Punk Buster because I wont be able to play online then mate :)

yea i can play crysis 2 perfectly fine, maybe few fps drops here n there (old gpu ftl) but i have issues with bc2.. im thinking its just a bc2 issue but bsod.. prime95 isnt a bad idea but could most probably be just a driver issue.. try going back a driver or 2 n see if your problem goes away as kaeo suggested (he ment older driver versions, not older versions of bc2)

Really need more games than just Crysis 2, it's a really a poor benchmark for card stability (not even a DX10 game).

Any chance you have Metro 2033, Crysis 1 or Farcry 2 to use instead?

Are you overclocking your CPU? I had an issue with random crashes to destop with BFBC2, reduced my overclock; and had no more issues. Tinkering with voltages had no effect. Strangely enough, I can run the full oc with Warhead and Shogun 2 without problems....

Sometimes if you run MSI Afterburner, Fraps, GPU-z or basically anything that reads GPU temperatures you may experience Punkbuster induced hardware crashes. For me this displays as a frozen screen with sound skipping continually. I don't recall getting a BSOD but I never waited long enough. Punkbuster can't be arsed to fix this apparently and just say it's tough **** to those affected, or something like that anyway.

If I run one of these programs after about 5-15 minutes my system will freeze in BC2. If I disable these programs I can play for hours with never a single crash.

Nope nothing is on OC, everything is at the default settings - When I meant Crysis I meant Crysis warhead on full settings, I've tried it the game with both the standard card driver and the updated driver of the website.

What is this Prime 95 thing?

its a program for stress testing cpu's and tealc explain what sorta crashes u experiance, as i run aida64, cpu-id hw monior, gpu-z cpu-z and rivatuner in the background... ossibly could be causing my bc2 crashes... would be nice to get mroe info from you :)

BC2 is the most stressful game ive ever run, ive had to cut back my overclock in the past (that was prime and linpack stable) to run it.

I've had some BSODs running BC2 with overclocked CPU while running a Minecraft server. (not the best thing to do)

Lower voltage or get a stable overclock if its overclocked.

Ive never had overclock issues with bfbc2, (and it is a pretty stressful game). However, as Tealc has mentioned, since the 9th of march pb update, the game can crash when using certain monitoring apps, afterburner and evga precision being two that ive experienced. Also experienced white screens that were caused by using higher than 4x aa on certain nvidia drivers.

I don't use any monitoring apps at all, should I increase my voltage and if so what voltage should I raise and how high?

BFBC2 found the weak link in my PC , the GFX card. It started of with random crashes , then odd GFX effects then BSD's and hard lock ups, had to ramp up the GFX fans to 100% every time I played, but the card a GTX280 called it a day in the end. It never had a problem with any other games only BFBC2.
Becouse it was only the one game and random it was hard to nail down to the GFX card as well.
