would anyone recommend 270.61 over 266.58 drivers for the 570?

wondering if it's really worth it as i have not had any trouble with 266.58, their site doesn't list any major improvements for the 570 in it

would appreciate people thoughts and experiences with these drivers

As a rule, it's always best to install the latest certified drivers for your device.

It generally ensures you avoid any compatibility issues further along the line and keep a stable system.

My two cents, unless your experiencing a specific issue, it's best ot skip the beta drivers. Although others might give good enough reasons to do otherwise.

270.61 drivers are WHQL and they're very good. Lots of improvements in games like L4D2 and a huge improvement for Dragon Age 2.

I would upgrade.

266.58 had issues for a lot of people, the 270.51 beta's solved them and were better performing, so I assume the whql ones are the same.

just installed them, there's a little trouble for some ppl where it won't install, i think the main culprit is nvidea update, it failed first time for me so i unchecked update and 3d vision as i won't use them

i would test bc2 but i couldn't log in earlier so can't be bothered to try lol

I always update drivers to latest every time they release new ones.
Never really had a problem with the new ones but if there is you can always rollback!

Edit: plus i installed those drivers for my 570 a few days ago and no problems to report :)

I cannot run 3D and SLI properly with it (yet), but then thats just my unique setup. If I run 2 cards without 3D, its great.

i just had a thing where my gpu went up to 97-99% usage for a minute or so just while browsing, turned the taskbar solid(non transparent) exited everything and it was still like it for 30 secs or so then returned to normal

thats never happened before today, could that be a driver thing as it was earlier today i installed this new driver?

I got some decent gains with the 270.61 drivers over the 266.58 drivers, most notably 6fps in Resident Evil 5 (2fps compared to 260.99 as I lost 4fps with 266.58) and 4fps in Just Cause 2. I also got about ~1fps in Metro 2033. Haven't been on anything else since or tested them with anything like 3DMark11 or Heaven, but I imagine they'd do well.

Also RE above: I was playing Just Cause 2 for quite a while earlier (few hours or so) without any issues, but as I was doing a vehicle challenge, my fps plummeted from around 90-100fps to like 30fps for a few seconds until I couldn't be bothered to play any longer. I quit the game and my taskbar was also in the Basic theme (solid). GPU usage was pretty much maxed as I was in-game, but the graph in Afterburner did have dips in it leading up to me quitting (one spike went as low as ~40%).

Wasn't sure what to make of it, to be honest, though it could well be the drivers as I also installed them today.

using a 570 and the 270.61 drivers and it is a lot better than the 266.58 drivers

i never really had a problem with the 266.58 but that was released in mid January

the 270.61 has improved performance and compatibility with all the games released since then like Crysis 2 and DA2 and various other fixes and improvements

anyone else getting their card go into 3d clocks when it shouldn't? i've had it a couple times now since i installed these drivers yesterday

I've had the 3d clocks change as well and turned the taskbar solid(non transparent) exited everything and it was still like it for 30 secs or so then returned to normal.
I was checking through windows and windows index was doing its tests at the same time. Might be an issue with windows index and these drivers?
I'm running 2 580 gtxs.
