The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Well i've had jj9 for a couple weeks now, i'll leave it go as it seems to be leveling out. Some days it eats, others it sips.

I dont like my OLED San fransico does anybody know of any other sites i can list it on other then Ebay , gumtree and HUKD? Are there any mobile forum selling sites?

I've unlocked my san francisco to use my vodafone SIM, but the internet browser won't work excet via WiFi.. Is this just because it's an orange browser; will changing to cyanogen solve the issue? I'm wanting to change over this afternoon but don't want to switch to gen 2 if I can't switch back and the problem remains...

Need a quick answer before i click buy..

Can i still unlock this phone to run o2.

any negatives about unlocking it, can i still upgrade etc?

Thanks

This means you can flash back to Gen1 from Gen2 if you use this method. Also you could try CM7 N39, the last Gen1 rom. I'm running it, fine so far.

Yes, no, yes.

right was just wondering which rom would be the best to use, ive had the "alpha3-update-modacocustomrom-blade-kitchen-unsigned" rom on since i bought it as i was happy with it as everything ran ok like gps wifi and such. but the battery seems to be very poor on this rom, if i have the screen brightness on high and am running wifi to surf a bit or play any games the battery can be dead in half a day. so im looking to try a different rom but dont know which would be best. mainly i just need everything to work and not kill my battery :)

swedish spring should be good.. im running the older version the JJRLS9.. and battery at best lasts over 48hrs..

I'm using Swedish Spring RLS4b and get around 4 days out of the battery (after recalibration) with moderate usage. Best ROM I've used since getting the phone.

I installed battery graph to see how much battery is lost during use. In 2 hours of constant use I've lost 40%

Web browsing and wordfeud etc with hsdpa on.

Anyone ever had the touch screen stopped working when a new rom has been flashed?

no matter what rom i have now stock or custom its stopped working :(

Could it have been related to when you fitted your new digitizer and then flashed a ROM..?

when did i say i had anew digitalizer?

but yes i have but it worked fine after it was fitted UNTIL a new rom was flashed

EDIT: probably seen my posts on modaco

I have been following that thread at Modaco with some interest. The reason that I mentioned that is my SF is a B08 and my wife's is a B10. I do know there is a B20 on the market now. There maybe others as well. Then there is the OLED and TFT differences.
I do not know if the digitizers changed at all in the model revisions nor do I know the source or quality etc of the digitizer you bought.
But I wonder if the revision of the phone and the ROM coupled with the digitizer you bought could be the issue..?

For all the above differences there seems to be only one digitizer type sold..?

its been pulled from an orginal phone. Its just strange that it did work and just stopped.

in any case it was to replace a droped and cracked screen. so i can send it in for repairs now. I have a second SF so i can just pull the little warrantys ticker from that,

What are orange's returns like? Will they just swap it or do they have to send it in for repairs?

mine is one of the older ones from September. In either case this SF is just a play thing its cool for what it is but its very poorly built. I have a Desire HD as my main phone

From what I have read Orange seem to be pretty good with returns, one person claiming that they replaced their phone with a new OLED one when he admitted breaking the screen.

I have read about the touchscreen issues and then the issues when a person replaces the screen / digitizer themselves.

SS RLS5 is supposed to help those with touchscreen issues. But I'm not sure it is the same with those with replacement digitizer problems.

Do you happen to know if the phone you took it from was the same revision etc as the phone you put it into..?
