Hi All,

I'm looking at buying the elite 430 case to house my alc eco r120.

I plan on putting two top exhausts and ideally two ty-140mm fans in push/pull on the ECO, attached to the rear fan space as an INTAKE.

This will draw cool air from outside which will then be exhausted by the two top fans.

My question is this:

The ty-140 is a 140mm fan with 120mm fittings, this will fit the eco BUT does anyone know, or has anyone put the ty-140 fan in the rear space on the back of the elite 430 case?

Or has anyone put one of these fans in an antec one hundred rear mount? This is the other case I am looking at getting.

Many thanks in advance :)

Rex

I don't think a 140mm will fit in the rear of the CM430.

And there isn't a great deal of clearance at the top of some boards/coolers for the top 120mm fans either.

Although with your cooler it should make life a little easier

excuse the dust ;)

Hey Wonder, cheers for the reply :)

Shame it wont for the fan, they woulda been nice! The case loosk good (dust aside) :p How have you found yours?

I currently have an elite 335 and love it but the alc eco wont fit in the back fan mount :(

Well it wasn't my first choice, I bought a Silverstone PS04B but it had a strange clearance issue with my graphics cards VGA connector (using VGA as it's connected via a KVM).

So as I wanted a bottom mounted PSU I went for the Elite 430.

Cable managements not too bad for a sub £40 case

I've made a few minor mods to mine....

Removed the laser like blue Power and HDD LEDS for some dimmer Green and orange ones:-

Removed the front 120mm Blue LED fan and swapped it for an 140mm Alpenhorn PWM fan.

Fitted a CM 120mm non led fan from my CM690 onto the rear postion.

The first attempt is shown above!

I have since rotated the CPU cooler 90 degrees and fitted a couple of Antec Tricools into the roof of the case and set them on low.

And fitted an Akasa PWM splitter so the front fan is controlled along with the CPU fan.

It's now runs cool and silent 24/7 with out lighting up the room. For a case that cost so little I am very pleased with it.

Very nice, many thanks :)

I'm currently torn between buying the:

Elite 430
Antec 100
Centurion 5 II

All are similar, I want it to house my ALC ECO R120 in the rear.... really cant decide which to buy :s

I will make a start on the case tonight :) I'm hoping the 12v cable will stretch (i forgot to order an extension just in case) My 12v connector is in the middle of the board (MA770-UD3) so i should be ok. The PSU is a red Hiper Type-R 480 (red led fan) so will look interesting against the window....

I also ordered an apache 1400rpm fan for the rad so looking forward to hearing (or not) how quiet that will be!

I found a solution atm but cheers. The 480w hiper didnt work so ive got my old psu in atm.

I love the apache so much now that im either going to order another 3 for the intakes and exhaust to replace the standard coolermasters and run them all on the PWM or buy the ty-140 140mm fans for the side and front & top if one will fit :D
