Why does everything have so much salt?

Just had a bag of crinkles, I would have thought it would contain more than 7% Salt of GDA. not that bad, but I am going to start making my own crisps. Worcester sauce is still lush though.

What gets me is why do people have to put salt onto their roast meals? I'm on about homemade roasts and those you get at the carvery.

I generally don't put salt onto my plate unless it's a boiled egg or fried egg.

I bought a box of SAXA cooking salt 500g, looked on the ingrediants, it was almost all salt and anti caking agents. Couldnt beleive it.

As for crisps tasting worse and worse, crisps used to have far more fat in them than they do now. about 30g of aminal fat I think. non of this low-whatever sunflower whatever-it-is.
