Sat on the beach in South Shields for a few hours today, and predictably enough I'm sunburnt. Only moved up here in January for college, thus this is my 1st time the weather's really been up to hitting the beach, and I must say the beaches round here are awesome! Hours well spent reclining in the sun round Trow Point.
 
We always have a few weeks in late Spring of decent warmth, but this April has broken meteorological records temperature wise since 1893. A lot of stations have beaten previous Tmax temps 6 days in a row!!!
 
The problem with the heat is...

...I can't get any sodding work done.

Use laptop indoors and it's a bit stuffy.
Use laptop outside in balcony and there's too many totty to get distracted (the flat overlooks a small park).

In the winter you have no choice but to get work done. :p
 
It's been a great spell of weather, much better than mid summer as the warmth is very bearable in April, i dont call this a heatwave, heatwaves are when temps are around 30C+ like in July.
 
After a few days when the temperature were slightly lower the "summer" spell continues and it's 20°C and sunny.
 
The weather here is currently:

HOOFING IT DOWN. Thunder and lightning continuously for about an hour now, hailstones like miniature golf balls, torrential rain.. and BBC says it's due to be sunny. :cool::D
