so they should create a subforum because it was asked for? give over.

first pointless post in the 'easter' thread, considering this is GD, was this one imo:

Lol to all the people that think it's cool to be boorish.

Just say Happy Easter, whether you celebrate it as a Christian or Pagan or simply a Cultural festival.

or simply ignore the the thread if you don't celebrate it at all.

I'm not sure on the mod level at the mo, in some cases its almost non existant and in others it seems ott.
As always though, the mod team are reliant on the users reporting unacceptable things...

Indeed. People have spent the entire DAY trolling for no reason, and flaming religious members (who are still members and customers here). The posts still stand, despite multiple Don warnings.

As soon as someone posts to say it's wrong and a shame for those people so affected, THAT is the post removed? Poor show chaps. :(

Do you ever give up on making a point?

Relax, go to bed.

Lysander's thread shouldn't have been deleted. He was making a fair point this time.

A point that has been made and debated, concessions were given but the idea of a sub forum was discussed and it was decided against

if you want sensible discussion then SC is there for it, if you expect it in GD then that may well not happen

I am not aware of this afternoons thread but discussion re moderating shoudl be email as per forum rules

The issue with the thread was that it was firstly going over ground already covered and secondly was something that should be discussed offline if a member feels that the moderation was incorrect

I really respected you for apologising in the last thread. Don't ruin things now. That was a big move you made. I don't know if I would have been big enough to do that.

I'm surprised that thread was deleted. I expected some discussion of a mature nature from the dons. In fact, its deletion reinforced its argument.

I'm not sure about this afternoon either so might well have missed something. I just thought it seemed like a reasonable post/thread. SC might be an idea, an intimidating place mind.

It is called an opinion, a valid one considering the context.

And does GD not stand for General Discussion and not General Disrespect.

and as such it keeps the idiots out, and if the nature of SC doesn't keep the idiots out then I will

Should a member really have to post in SC just to say 'Happy Easter'? The responses some members gave him were out of line regardless of where the OP posted. Is 'Happy Easter' really an SC worthy topic? It's definitely not discussion of a newsworthy event, nor even a religious one. It was just 'Happy Easter'.
