iTunes Music Library Question - Windows

Just a quick one. If I add my entire 'My Music' folder to iTunes via File > Add Folder to Library will only add the file to the Library, it won't do anything strange with the tags/filenames/data will it?

I have 'Keep iTunes media folder organised' unchecked, but just want to make sure it's not going to mess about with my music order/info if I add the whole lot to the iTunes library?

Is there anything I should watch out for? I don't want iTunes touching my Music, I just want it in the library so I can sync properly with my iPhone.

Best untick Copy files to iTunes library as well from that same window or you'll end up with duplicates on the HD. i.e. Music in the Music folder and the same music in the iTunes folder.

You should be all set then. I done this for about 5 years with no problems. Anytime I wanted to change tags I done it through Explorer and iTunes picked up the changes.

Thanks. All working quite nicely now. It's a shame iTunes doesn't scan My Music for new tracks though.
