500 taliban esape through 1000ft long tunnel dug into main prison

I wondered what all those funny looking men wearing pakols were doing at the bottom of the garden this morning.

I was thinking the other day, how many Taliban have actually been killed since 2001? I know it will be thousands, but they must have a rough idea... google time

Got to hand it to them - that is impressive tbh...

Massive intelligence failure on our part - though hopefully a large portion of these escaped taliban will now serve as targets in a mass turkey shoot this summer. I really hope there weren't too many bomb makers etc.. amongst the escapees as that is a really bad blow to the coalition.
 
Must have taken quite a while to get them all out - Seems strange that there were no patrols during this time?

Sounds like they need some ground piercing radar or something... Maybe SONAR type things could be good for detecting tunnels in the future... I bet there's all sorts of stuff out there that they could get to stop this happening next time. If complex tech fails, then a good old cast iron floor should do the trick.

Yup, vibration sensors that can detect even a footstep. The exist in american max prisons.
