(PS3) Mortal Kombat SE Tournament

Yea, that's exactly what it is, so wouldn't work well for the tournament. But still a brilliant use of the online with your mates

Yeah that's what most of us play in SSF4 but it's not that good if there are too many ppl in the lobby as you are waiting ages for your turn. I suppose in MK if you can boo or cheer it makes it more involving for spectating members so less boring. :)

Just waiting on PSN to come back up and this is ready to go...

I read on another forum that Japan are now back up? If that is true hopefully UK won't be far behind, I still haven't got a clue who I'm going to use for this tournament I'm stuck at work here need to get home and get some practice put in. I'm getting a very confident vibe from Jonty so I might be in bother :P

I think I have an old tv tuner card which I remember recording vhs tapes onto my pc with. Not sure if it'll work but from what I understand, all you need to do is connect the card to your tv and then to your pc?

btw, it goes without saying that everyone in this tourny is using the ps3 pad and not a fight stick?

OK, I found my old wintv hauppauge card. Gonna figure out what to do next. Need to find an s-video cable first...

EDIT: Nevermind, doesn't even work with windows 7 64bit.

Lol, that's pretty much made me dismiss anything you ever say that's fighting game related :p

Whatever, kreee. Pads vs joy sticks is like keyboard vs pad in fps games. Maybe not a huge advantage depending who you are playing but its still different playing fields.

Yea, maybe for MK a pad is good enough but using a fight stick is always easier to pull off combo's and special moves.

Just curious but how? I mean I'm actually curious :). I've not used one probably since I was in an arcade 15 years ago or so xD and never looked at once since.

I'm looking at it and it looks like some varied Analogue stick to me, but I can only assume it has more accurate and distinct directions than an analogue stick? Either way though I will be using a gamepad :).

Imagine having all your fingers on the buttons at once instead of just using your thumb. Its much easier to hit the buttons faster for combos.

Lay your ps3 pad flat and put your index finger on square, middle finger on triangle and your ring finger on circle.. now try pulling off some simple moves and combos in MK. I did this and I found it so much easier. Sometimes I end up htting the wrong button with my thumb.

Also, my thumb is pretty slow at tapping the buttons compared to my other fingers. So, it makes a huge difference to me.
