500 taliban esape through 1000ft long tunnel dug into main prison

it's wrong but being British I kinda think "nice one one" i think admiring escape attempts is hard-wired into us >.<

Got to hand it to them - that is impressive tbh...

I disagree.

It becomes easy when you have prison guards helping you. Also, I bet many guards saw what was going on and simply turned a blind eye.

If you want impressive, look at some of the escapes / attempted escapes that took place in ww2.

We're having a hard enough time fighting them, surely the Afghan government is going to be crushed as soon as we leave.

another 10 years in Afghanistan? some thing smells fishy about this break out. More evidence why the British and American military needs to stay in Afghanistan?

Also as history tells us that no one has ever defeated the taliban. Kinda worrying.

Considering the Taliban only became the leading power in Afghanistan after the Soviets pulled out in 1989 that isn't really a record, as we are the first to fight them :P

What I believe you mean is the rebellious nature of the population in Afghanistan and their fierce opposition to all invaders throughout their history.

The Americans had a chance to stop the Taliban coming to power if they had of helped the Mujahideen in 1989 but instead when the conflict ended their turned their backs on the weakened Mujahideen who simply no longer had the man power to keep control of the country leading to the Taliban taking over.

And now we are going to pay in the lives of our young servicemen for that mistake.
