Should be a good program.

With the cameras in hot pursuit, Derren faces his toughest project yet, going in search of an unsuspecting member of the British public prepared to adopt the guise of a pastor and miracle worker.

His chosen one then has six months to learn the trade and flourish across the pond as a convincing pastor.

The final phase of the volunteer’s extraordinary challenge sees them attempt to perform faith healing miracles live in Texas, but will Derren’s new recruit be accepted as a faith healer or cast away as fake healer?
The show will air tonight at 9pm on Ch4, 10pm on Ch4+1 and will be available on 4oD

Its always amazed me how people can bielive this healing jesus rubbish. It is however amazingly funny to watch

I like derren brown, his shows are genuinely clever and demonstrate just how susceptible the human mind is to external influence. However, he is foremost an entertainer, hence his tag line of magic, misdirection and showmanship. I lost allot of respect for him after the lottery prediction and false explanation trick.

Its ironic that allot of his work is about 'people will believe anything' which his fans accept when its applied to something controversial like faith healing or talking to ghosts, but discard when it comes to his own shows. You don't know what is fake, what is real, what is editing and what is manipulation (like shooting multiple shots until you get the money shot, aka, what david blaine got famous for)

Believe it or not, you can appreciate derren browns show tonight and also believe in 'this healing jesus rubbish'

And i love how you hold up this show as a poster child anti-religion advertisement before its even aired and without having any incite into how the show is produced :) It turns out the anti-religion brigade are just as gullible as the rest of them

wow you manage to convince yourself that i am making this show a poster child out of the one sentence i posted.

FYI im not religious but one of my friends is and even he doesnt believe in these american pasters. There has been proof that there are many fakers out there

Love how he can just teach people how to hypnotise people. Such a clever bunny, do love a bit of Derren Brown.

I thought it was good in explaining how much of a joke faith healing was but the actual show at the end felt a bit pointless considering how few actually turned up - I'd be annoyed if I'd wasted 6 months of my life to do that personally. Meh.

No surprises that a Derren Brown faking it show gives fake outcome. He sets out to fake faith healing and er delivers fake faith healing from what I saw. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Still not a bad watch.

I watched that Darren Brown "Miracles For Sale", It was very disappointing as I thought he was going to humiliate the faith healer at the end, what a complete anti climax!

So after 6 months of training and preparing for this event their outcome was telling 2 dozen Americans that faith healers are bad people?

Might just be me but that equation doesn't sound very balanced.

It's quite clear that the intentions at the outset and what was actually achieved by the end had drifted apart.

They could have easily edited out the parts where things went wrong and the guy got stressed because Derren and his team looked a bit stupid sometimes, I thought it was very honest to leave it in and it felt more like a documentary.
