You've commandeered a small life-boat and there's a small desert island in the distance.
The dons have kicked out the young and weak to secure their place. Other members are diving into shark-infested waters. You're safe on the boat.
There's only one spot left, and being the closest to the mass of people, you're charged with picking someone. Who do you save and why?
Me? I'd probably save Nitefly as he seems to be a genuinely lucky and upbeat guy and isn't too argumentative. Being marooned on a desert island he's someone to keep morale up. What's more, I can amuse myself by collecting rocks and pretending I've found a new species of animal for him to catalog. If and when he makes a scientific breakthrough akin to that enjoyed by the Beagle, I'll steal it and take my rightful place in the history books.
