WTF car insurance moment...

I'm currently trawling the car insurance comparison sites to find a good deal on my car insurance renewal next month.

Now my job is a Team Leader in a DVD distribution warehouse, however Team Leader isn't an option for job title so I put warehouseman.

My quote was fairly high so I thought i'd try and be a bit creative, the closest I could find to Team Leader was Line Manager on the job title choices.

The result, my car insurance quote dropped by £300 give or take a few pounds.

This is my first car insurance WTF moment

Plenty of things like that, driveway is often cheaper than garage, naming your wife/GF/mother/random people often brings the price down.

Just try every option on the insurance website which you are planning to go with.

I've heard many people say to play around with different options but I truly had no idea the difference it could make.

Residential Parking Area is always a good one. Got quite a bit off mine by changing it from parked on Roadside.

My cheapest Fully Comp Quote this year is £1000, if the car was in the garage then it would only be £250.

So they are saying that there is £750 of extra risk each year if my car was left parked on the road... which basically means they think there is a 50% risk of it getting stolen in the next 12 months o.o

Admiral insisted my car was at less risk being parked on a street rather than the other options, knocked a fair amount off the policy. Rather odd I think as I'm sure its safer sat on the drive!

Hmmm...if I mention my alloys the quote goes up by over £200

On the drive they know which house to break into to get the keys so that can make the price higher i think.

Sound logic I guess, but the main road is very narrow and is part of a very busy bus route which obviously isn't a factor in what they decide but whatever
