Hi guys, I fly to new York with 2 friends on Thursday with virgin Atlantic. Just found out we arnt sitting next to each other on the flight, we booked with the same company, at the same time and stuff.

It won't let me move seat on the website, is there anything I can do?! Would rather sit with mates!

You can pick your seats up to 6 months in advance with Virgin Atlantic. This is why you now find, 3 days before your flight, you cant pick your seats - everyone else did it months ago.

I'm aware of that now, just wondering if I get there and ask since I wasnt aware of it at the time. (first time booking flights for myself)

If there aren't any three seats available in a row then there aren't any seats available. You're gonna have to find two in a row and ask the next passenger to move.

You are going to be sat beside an overweight stranger who hasn't been able to wash their butt crack in over 2 months. Enjoy your flight.

They have their seats next to each other, so I'll guess I'll ask the single person to swap.

It's 8 hours btw, and I'd like to talk to my friends ...

And get them to do what? Move someone else out of the seat you want to move into? No chance.

lol, I remember one time I went to Portugal or Italy or somewhere really close but anyway, for some reason, it was a cheap flight company, instead of putting me and my gf in the same row, they put us separately, so we sat at the back, each of us in the last seat of a row, so out of spite we pretty much ****ed off the flight attendants who were always trying to get in the back for the kitchen or w/e , by kissing and constantly talking.

Yes that was a bit of a pricky thing to do, but not sitting a couple together is as well.

Did you ask to sit together? They aren't obliged to put you together.

Virgin Atlantic hold back a portion of seats from online checkin.

Re check the Virgin site the morning before chekin opens. From experience they release the seats hours before online checkin actually opens.

Do not wait for the airport use the online checkin.
