Shouldnt you tell Nissan that, they have it listed on the website under the '4x4' section.

Perhaps call them up tommorrow and tell them they are wrong and that it isnt a 4x4? Maybe involve trading standards? :D

Whilst you are at it, report Volvo as well.

They seem to think those lorrys/tractor units are 'trucks' - I don't see a single Navara style vehicle in their range :D

The Nissan is a 4x4. :p

My Dads had a Low Range gearbox etc.. doesn't taht make it a 4x4??

Ahh, as does my Scania, but its not 4x4..... ;) :D

This thread is cringeworthy.

I Quite agree - but what the Hell? :D

OK, I'm not saying what you guys want to call trucks are not trucks but they should be called lorries if you're being specific about using English definitions. My Navara is called a Pickup Truck in many places and the definition of a truck allows the Navara to be called a truck.

As for 4x4 that's all about it's drive mechanism not a type of vehicle (hence the comment about 4x4/4WD/AWD etc. So although my truck is capable of running in 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive is not a vehicle type description. The fact it can carry goods is and hence I can call it a truck.

I've actually forgotten why I posted this now :D

So I have to admit to playing everyone along a bit but I do enjoy a good argument over something that isn't really definitive. Apologies to anyone taking it seriously I'll probably call it a Navara from now on.

I really should get my HGV license and get a real lorry.

Oh for Truck sake.

I don't like a Navara.

One it's a Nissan and two it fails the patented K.C. Leblanc sensible sized wheel test (you administer the test by looking at the wheel and thinking "could I manage a pizza that big").

Trucks are the things that hold the wheels together under a rail carriage, aren't they? :p

In my opinion, and not based on anything other than my own observations, the difference between a Lorry and a Van is that a lorry has separate cabin/cargo areas; a van doesn't. (The sheet wall between cargo and cabin in some Transit's doesn't count! I meant completely separate compartments).

Its called "I like TRUCKING" for a reason, they are trucks! No such thing as a "Lorry", well, not from my point of view anyway!
They call it "I like Trucking" because it is innuendo and rhymes with the word they actually mean :p

Yeah, I appreciate that thanks - and old enough to remember that series on TV :o - Trucks are what you deem a large lorry, we'll have to agree to disagree I think. :D

Your pics are thus, Van, Flatbed Van, Truck.:p

In normal life if someone called the Nissan (Datsun?) a truck, pickup, pickup truck, 4x4 etc etc. Then most normal people of average intelligence would know or be able to work out what was meant. Shocked that this is even a debate!

It's not been a debate just bit of a wind up and fun.
