New phone time soon..

Ok my contract is up on my HTC Magic in a few weeks, and im trying to decide on my next phone...so I turn to you guys....Im sticking with Android

But which is the current best Android smartphone out there, or is there one in the pipeline?

Samsung Galaxy S II is the by far the most powerful phone coming out. The only downside is its made by Samsung.

It's out now in some shops, try your local Phones4U. Most other outlets should have it by May 2nd (i.e next Tuesday)

Because unless you are planning on rooting and installing a custom rom you will have to put up with the fact that Samsung do their level best to cripple their phones with a terrible Android overlay making their awesome hardware run like a dog with 3 legs which are all different lengths.

Rubbish. TouchWiz isn't great but its nowhere near as bad as you've made out there. The new version on the SGS2 is actually getting a lot of positive press

Replace TW with any custom launcher if you don't like it, that's the joy of droid, hell most folk I know with htc's replace sense with a launcher.

Looks fine in the many videos I've watched so far. Not as polished as Sense, but still very usable nonetheless. I've yet to see any evidence at all of any performance issues at all on the SGS2.

I've just (yesterday) got a Samsung Galaxy S 2 to replace my HTC Magic, it's fantastic, coming from the magic it's amazing just how good it is, definitely what I'd reccomend
