Is this a real question. Whilst I loved my HTC desire, the galaxy s is a better device and I prefer it. Needless to say the sgs II is better technically when it launches. This can all change however when you root the device and install custom roms. Between the 2 you question.... sgs. Enjoy

thanks guys didnt really want the sgs2 because i only want a 25 month deal and been a new phone it will be more than that the sgs 1 is still is a upgrade considering i own a nokia 5800

I'd take an Arc over a 2X.

You can get the SGS2 (for £29) on a decent £25pm 24 month contract. (Dial a phone/T-Mobile)

Why would you take an Arc? It's single core with pish graphics acceleration, it's saving grace is the camera, and even that's pretty much matched by the 2X.

The 2X is dual core/Tegra 2, a proper next-gen handset.

It is, it depends on how good of a camera you need I suppose but the samples I've seen from the LG have looked naff.

It doesn't matter now though as he wants an SGS2, wise decision

rite guys been 2 phones 4 u to refund my orange contract 3 days old awfull coverage in my area (playing with the mast for many weeks apparenty) never should have left o2 anyway they had the sgs2 in stock 1 left had a play with it i do want it badly now but there deal was 600mins 3000texts and 500mb of internet for £36. I then popped over to o2 who claim the phone will be for sale on sunday they offered me the same deal but £32 as they got a £5 off deal or something at the minute i mite settle for that unless e2save do a better redemption offer.

Having played with quite a lot of android phones, I am still pleased with the Desire S. It does everything I want and there are only 2 weaknesses, both of which apply to the sgs, sgs2, lg et al - battery isn't very good, only a day and coming from an N900, the internet experience isn't as good without an app to help and sometimes that is frustrating.

You can do that on all Android phones, there isn't a single good reason to get a Nexus S in all honesty.

A lot of people seem to be supremely confident in the SgsII despite it not even being released yet...

I bought a Desire S today, it was a price level lower than all the new dual core phones coming out soon which was essential, and I think for the price it comes at it's a fantastic option.

The SGS2 has been released, you can order one now for delivery next week and lots of people have them already.
