750,000 Threads on OCUK forums!

Loads have been deleted. Like, seriously loads. I'm betting there would be millions if the forums didn't get pruned.
 
Ah yes, but this is a counter of the total threads posted ever! Whilst many are indeed deleted they are all recorded and added to the counter
 
I'm pretty sure in vBulletin, the thread ID displayed in the URL is actually the number of threads as it's sequential numbers starting from 1, just checked on another forum I use where threads are rarely deleted and the thread ID and number of threads are almost identical.

The ID for this thread is 18268926, which implies more like 18,268,926 total threads since 2002 including deletions.

Not IIRC to the total posts and threads counters - back when we were pruning the forums the "total" posts would go up and down like a yoyo (I think it kept passing the million mark, then dropping back down to 750k or something).

I think User post counts are done by a separate counter that wasn't affected by mass pruning of posts*, only by pruning of individual users posts from memory :) (there is in fact an option in the CP to reset user post counts based on users currently available posts in the DB, which is a different one to the one that does the same for threads/posts forum wide).



*Or by admins adding billions of posts to users PC's.
