6970 xfire with 1920x1080

Is this too much overkill at this res ? The cards are going to be 6950's reflashed.

Thought about buying just the one card HOWEVER i know i plan to upgrade to a Dell 30" at some point (buying the Dell 23" ultrasharp now) so will have 2560x1440 or whatever it is + the 23" as a second monitor at some point.

Thoughts ? Its all for BF3 really maxed out, but the other games out now such as crysis 2 aswell!
