Cant believe my mum! I let her borrow my car and the next day she drove it back with this! She was reversing out and scraped a parking billard. Its only a Rover 25 03 plate. How much will this cost? Need a quote quick time.

Jeez, that is a good one!

If you are half handy with a spanner and the wing isn't welded on I'd be tempted to use one of the web based part sourcing websites / ebay to see if you can get a wing and door from a scrappy in the right colour.

EDIT - and that must be the quickest rust formation in history

I'd hope so, that said, your mum is not the sort of person you start saying owes you, usually, they can think of a few where you owe her...

She was trying to kill that hateful car and get you into something more substantial, as a mother would.... :D

Its only a wing and the door, they might even save that door.

I agree with this.

Shouldn't be too hard to find, nor very expensive.

Buy her some flowers and give her a hug. She will feel bad about it. Just get it sorted, only a ca....only a rover in fact. (I have owned one) :)

I'd just buy a second hand door and wing off of Ebay or a scrapyard. Can't see either panel costing much more than £30 or so, probably less for the wing.

Bolt off, bolt on. Job done.

ie:
Example wing

Example door

This.

Hardest part will be finding them in the same colour on a breaker.

But even if you bought panels in the wrong colour im sure you could have them sprayed for <£200 and the wings/doors aint too difficult to fit/remove.

Very easy to replace those parts as said, they just bolt on. I have rebuilt rover 200s countless times now and i am fairly basic when it comes to mechanics.

Id probably just replace the wing and ignore the door on that car tbh.

I feel your pain, my mum did worse to my car when I was a lad. Parked on a sloped drive, she leaned across the front seat of the car to get something and accidentally released the handbrake. Car rolled down the drive with drivers door open. Which caught on the tree at the bottom of the drive and bent backwards. Twisted the door pillar, smashed the door into the wing and bent the bonnet. Ended up scraping it, poor thing. It was only an Alfasud, soon got over it. I still smile when I remember the look on her face when she told me.
