Dog friendly car?

Afraid it's another generic "what car?" thread!

I have an FN2 Civic Type R at the moment with the 19" rage alloys, which I've enjoyed but have been thinking about changing for the past while.

The ride quality has been slowly getting to me, but the final straw is that I've just got a dog, which absolutely hates being driven around in it due to being thrown around at every pothole.

Can anyone recommend a decent looking, handling, dog friendly car which still retains decent performance for around 8-10k? Not fussed on petrol or diesel. Only thing I can think of is cutting the budget slightly and going for an ST220..

Hmm interesting, guess it would have to be an estate version of it though..!

Yea but the estates drive exactly the same as the saloons and a 3 litre one goes well, with 4 wheel drive as a little bonus.

6-7k get you a tidy one of them.

Our lab-cross-collie Bella sits in the footwell of the MX5. She loves riding in cars though, and with the roof down she has her nose in the air trying to sniff the slipstream :D
