worth comming back? i have been away from wow for about 8 months now havent played new cata. i have a mage a lv 80 and a paladin level 26 i think,
so is it worth comming back to WOW now ?

also is arcane still the best spec for mage for leveling and raids ?
 
Anyone else finding their server is slowly dying? Many well established guilds disintegrating? BWD / BOT pugs no longer getting organised? I know its the normal summer lull period but on my server (shadowsong) things definitely seem to be hitting a bit of a low at the moment... :(

Does anyone still play WoW anymore? My cousins used to play it and they said it's gone dead but is this true?

I've quit playing now for 2 months and I would like to play again but I don't want to waste money each month just to stand in SW.
 
It's kind of reached that post-expansion lull, I think.

4.1 is out this week, but there's not much too it, just a bit of recycled content.

By rights another MMO should have come along by now and put WoW out of its misery, but there aren't any developers out there that are up to the challenge unfortunately.

Seems a lot of people are pinning their hopes on GW2 which frankly does look like the only wow alternative to actually beat it, but its still a long long way off :/
 
4.1 out today, most of the features seem a bit 'meh', but one of the 'general' changes:
- Conquest Points are now purchasable from the Valor Quartermasters at 250 Conquest Points per 250 Valor Points.
- Honor Points are now purchasable from the Justice Trade Goods vendors at 250 Honor Points per 375 Justice Points.
- Justice Points are now purchasable from the Honor Trade Goods vendors at 250 Justice Points per 375 Honor Points.

That seems too good to be true!
Can actually get some better gear with the usually useless justice points by 'trading up' to honor! :p
 
I'm feeling the temptation to return to WoW now...

I'd like to join a mature, friendly Guild and I understand that Ban's Hammer may be just such a Guild?

I see they have two websites - .com and .co.uk - I assume the .com is the new one?

I would be interested in raiding, but ought to start as a "social" applicant because I've been away since Wrath. (I've not raided in a Guild since BC, and only PUG'ed a few in Wrath).

Are there any particular classes and specs you are looking for? I have three 80s and in my preferred order they are:

1) Rogue
2) Resto Druid
3) Prot Warrior

All are Horde and could transfer to Defias if needed.

I would have course also want to start a Goblin and level him up through the new world. I'd be most interested in a Warlock or Shaman.
 
This is sad - 4.1 comes along and I've got so much work I haven't been able to even log on to WOW for the last week and I'm busy until the weekend after this one ;(

As for the above poster, given what I've heard people (on various forums) complaining about Wrath babies who cant cope with 'difficult' heroics and raids, not having Guild raided since BC might even be seen as an advantage.......
 
I've been doing some arena with random people over the past 2 months but with 4.1 you have to win 10 matches to cap your points. I think that's a bit too much.

You can only buy Bloodthirsty with HP now, it's no better than the Justice gear as it misses out whatever stat it replaces with resilience

Thats fine with me, unless the high level purple stuff drops or i can get a hold of it easily, i dont bother with it. Spending daft amounts of time trying to get something only for it to be 'out of date' in a few patches time is a waste to me. :p

Where do i trade between the points?

Brings it in line with the previous systems minimum of 10 games before being eligible for weekly points awards.

Blizzard said they might feel it is too low but from a historical point of view it's no more than previously.

Rogues, mages (arcane mostly, though fire had things fixed), DKs and hunters, though the latter traded a massive boost in aoe damage for a little drop on their single-target, meaning they now do only ridiculous dps rather than retarded dps. In short, all the classes that relly, really needed buffing.

Nice job, Blizzard.
