I tried it and hated it - touch screen is impossible when you're driving and not hugely useful when you're not.
I'd stick to a half decent stereo with A2DP streaming and just use your phone for all that stuff, at least you can easily keep real buttons, remotes etc.
I had one. Advantages were good GPS, music capabilities. Disadvantages were touch screen reflectivity, cost, and software (frontend) complexity/changes I wanted.
It was half an old laptop dumped in the boot connected to a tacky flip out screen which blocked the main airvents in an e46, the ones that basically do most of the work.
HAHA had to LOL at that, hope i did not wake anyone
Well I refuse to buy anything apple and music is not one of the reasons that I'm thinking of a car pc system. I would mostly use it for GPS & OBDII, internet would be handy also because i do a lot of miles and spend a fair bit of time parked at services.
acer revo base unit in the boot, android tab RDP'ing to the revo.....gonna be the best screen you'll get in terms of viewing angles and touch sensitivity, and the added bonus of rdp for the TV and reversing camera
You can use USB storage with some of the tabs, but obviously it's easy to take it out anyway or just sync it over wifi from your driveway
