I had a "scary" moment upgrading to theese from the preview set. My display didn't come back on when installing the drivers. I waited a bit so it could finish the install, shut down using power button, boots ok and display is ok:)

For some unknown reason, like 11.3, these drier don't prompt a reboot after install.

Rebooting after installing video driver is practically mandatory.

Not just me that noticed this then after installing these and the previous set of drivers. I still do it anyway just to be sure there's no issues

The Catalysts have been programmed to not need a reboot after install for years now. There's nothing mandatory about rebooting for video drivers.

In theory you're correct. In reality everything up to what, 11.1/2 has a reboot popup after install. Even if they didn't, like these, rebooting tends to solve glitches which crop up, frequently :(

Truth is, it only takes as long as a cup of coffee so there's not much to loose.

Just installed these drivers. No real difference noticed in anything I have tried but I didn't really notice any issues with the 11.3 drivers tbh.

I second this, especially if you're using external codecs for any media player.

Reset to factory defaults is a must after every drivers update IMO.

what the, installed the drivers and now all text in firefox is near unreadable.

*edit* oh restored factory defaults, that fixed it :p

Can you install caps without updating drivers
I want to stick with 11.3 but use new caps
Is it possible

anyone tried these with a 5970 and/or two screens? Wondering if the flickering problem that has been present in most of the 11.xx drivers has been fixed?
