No Picture From a Gigabyte 480 GTX OC

Hey I don't usually bother the OCUK community with what I purchase but I'm kinda stuck at the moment. Long story short - I upgraded from a 280 GTX to a Gigabyte 480 GTX SOC and I get no picture what so ever and the card still spins.

The computer acts as if its properly booted (chassis fans speed down etc) and seems to make it to windows (takes a few seconds to turn off when I hit the power button) - Only problem is there's still no picture.

I've checked all connections, confirmed that the port is working with my older graphics card... confirmed the DVI cable is working, but tried another just in case. so all I can think of is lack of power? But i'm in within the "recommendation" (600watts, and I have a 610watt Gigabyte).

Anyway, if you could throw some ideas as why I'd be eternally greatful.

My set up is as followed -

Gigabyte 610 Watt PSU
CoolIt Eco CPU Watercooler
Core 2 Quad Q6700 @2.7ghz
4Gbs Kingston HyperX @800hz
Asus P5NT Deluxe nForce 780i
BFG 280 GTX OCX -> Gigabyte 480 GTX SOC
64gb Corsair RealSSD
750gb Samsung 7200 32mb buffer

problem is your power supply is only JUST about in the recommended area but you have no headroom also your power supply will lose some of its initial wattage over time and thats why headroom is important if you want to keep one long term.

I would be inclined to say your PSU is probably the problem either that or a faulty card.

Yes could be psu. You could try underclocking your cpu, removing non essential drives and cards to see if that gets you just enough juice to be sure it is psu.

Try another pcie slot? Try updating motherboard bios?

Try both dvi sockets

I would also advocate the notion of reducing your CPU's clock speed and seeing if that helps. I have a feeling it's the PSU on this occasion. Make sure that PSU has enough amps on the +12V line.

I tried both DVI sockets, updated the bios, can not try another PCIE slot because the card wont fit anywhere else (but my old card definitely works in that one)

I also tried taking the power from the CPU fan and water pump... took out the extra HDD and my sound card I forgot to mention (xonar d2x) and it STILL wouldn't show a picture...

How would I go about finding how much amps it produces? theres a bunch of specs on the side... +12v1 +12v2 +12v3 all with 18A underneath?
