1 lady owner...

BUY MY RS4!!! :D :D

It will be the cheapest straight car in the UK, promise!

Hurry, this offer will self destruct following beer.

Not to mention possibilities of any rings they wear scratching the door near the handle. Had that with my old Civic.
Had this on the Leon too.
The rings scratch the door handles and gear knobs.
Their long nails scratched behind the door handle on the doors too..

When I was looking for my second hand RS4 I specifically wanted one owned by an enthusiast. Mainly, as others have said, it will have been looked after properly.

Plus if their part of a forum you can look through their history of ownership and see any issues they might of had. Granted they might not document everything but you'll have more of an idea than just seeing an ad.

Not to mention hand-cream cack on the steering wheel and upholstery. Probably less bogey residue on the steering wheel though ;)

1careful lady owner =

revvs like mad trying to reverse
loads of stalling
heavy and inconsistent braking
lots of bumps scraps
poor service history (or dealer history)
lots of kerbing so alloys/tracking/tyres etc not in great condition

You forgot lots of engine wear because they cannot hold a speed on the motorway....

e.g Give it gas to get to 75, let foot off gas compeltely until car slows to 70, give it gas to 75 over and over. Some nice added engine wear there.

I am looking for a new car soon and won't be buying it from a dopey woman or a boy racer. If I even feel suspicous that it hasn't been treated with the care*, I shall walk away.

*Care counts as decent paintwork, no rust, no ripped seats, serviced on time, parts replaced when required. Giving up a heavy foot once in a while doesn't mean it hasn't been well cared for.

As a few other have recommended, ignore any sales pitch about 1 lady owners! Usually don't care about cars and many will drive hard including straight from cold

Lol, glad to see everyone else shares the view that 'one lady owner' is a warning sign :D

I've always seen it as a sign that the car hasn't been looked after or washed, but I hadn't considered the clutch control, the scrapes or the braking. Mostly true in my experience :D

Got to be honest, thats not how my wife drives.

Mind you, my wife is excellent, she used to do grass track and banger racing for a hobby.

If you want advice on B7 RS4's then talk to me. I've probably done more miles in mine than anyone else has in theirs. 97K on the clock and climbing, full Audi service history, never bent, motorway miles and a list of issues (LIKE ALL OF THEM) I can provide details on!

My car was only 1 lady owner before me with low dual carriageway miles, bought it new as a cheap to run commuter I presume. She was a head mistress with plenty of spare cash as checking through the service history there was money thrown at it whenever something was up or come service time. Only got rid because her father died and left her his car. Still a great little hatchback for what it is! :)

So, I wouldn't judge in future, unless you went for a viewing and they were ragged silly.

my 230k mile golf went to a CGTI national 16v rolling road day at the weekend. it was within a couple bhp of the top tuned 16v (single throttle) despite its mileage, so i suppose all those silly things do eventually add up (ie babying it from cold etc)

How many of those 230k did you do though?

I'm with DM 1 owner is a win, man or woman. For almost every woman out there who doesn't have a clue there is a friend, partner or father looking after their car for them and making sure it is serviced etc.
