I got marriaged!

Congratulations. Those photos are fantastic too, they make the location look amazing! Out of interest, how was the Humanist service? My uncle had a Humanist funeral (not quite the same I know... or IS it? ;)) and it was surprisingly good.

I wish you long and happy lives, and many children.

Congrats!

Bet it was nerve racking for Raymond taking pictures for another photographer but they look great!

You were supposed to get married today, the media would then remind you about your anniversary every year. Although that could work against you if you're watching the news with your wife one day and a look of terror streaks across your face.

Thanks for everyones comments. :)

Congrats fella, i just got engaged last Friday. So i get all this to look forward to :)

Congratulations yourself. It is all very exciting. Just don't let the wedding planning get too stressful. We were both really laid back about the whole thing and it made the day much nicer, rather than stressing about it all going right etc.

Congrats!

It's all downhill from here.

Don't believe you. It only goes downhill if you let it. We have some really exciting plans for the future, so hopefully it is onwards an upwards from here on in. :)

Why are you on OcUK, when you should be on your honeymoon ?

Well technically we sort of are. We booked the castle for a week, so still have a few days to enjoy the area. Then in 4 weeks we are back up to Scotland, this time for a week on Barra in the outer Hebrides, and then we have 2 weeks in Norway at the end of summer. So all in all we are doing pretty well for holidays this year.

I thought it might be Ray. He text me saying it was awesome Congrats :)

The first and only choice. ;)

No more cleaning or cooking for you!

Hmm, not sure it works that way unfortunately. I can't see me getting out of my duties any time soon. Don't mind cooking though.

Congrats mate, was nice to meet you again.

It was a pretty awesome day!

p.s. I am home!

Thanks Raymond. Good meeting you again too, and thanks again for doing the photos. Loving the ones I have seen so far. Yeah, we both really enjoyed the day, and everything seemed to go pretty much perfectly.

Glad you got home ok too, you must have nerves of steel doing that drive after not having driven. Either that or you are now a nervous wreck! :D

Congratulations! Does that mean that I should now be asking her to make my coffee instead of you :p?

Yeah, that probably isn't a bad idea as I am rubbish at making coffee!

What made you get married up here?

Congratulations and I wish you both all the best, looks like you had a brilliant day. :)

Well, neither of us are religious, so a church wedding was out. We also didn't really fancy the idea of a registry office wedding, so in the end we found out about humanist weddings. As Scotland is one of the few countries that you can have a humanist wedding, and because we have both family ties and a love for Scotland, it seemed fitting to have it there. We then scoured the country for suitable venues that would also accommodate at least 13 people (the immediate family) and didn't cost a ridiculous amount. In the end we came across Castle Lachlan which seemed ideal. Great location and some stunning surroundings.

Lovely pair of wellies the missus has on there

Technically they are 'weddingtons'! No, really.

Congratulations dude.

Epic beard pictured does make recognition easier. Therefore, if I bump into you in the Tyne Bar Messiah, there's a pint on me.

Well, you might seeing as I live 2 minutes away from the Tyne Bar. ;)

Congrats dude :)

You look a bit like Keanu Reeves in that photo :p

I normally get compared to Christian Bale, so I'm not sure if that is better or worse. :p

I'm terribly disappointed actually, was hoping for world first of groom doing own wedding photos :p

I would have tried, but it might have been a bit tricky, lol.

Congratulations. Those photos are fantastic too, they make the location look amazing! Out of interest, how was the Humanist service? My uncle had a Humanist funeral (not quite the same I know... or IS it? ;)) and it was surprisingly good.

It was brilliant. It was laid back and very personal. The celebrant was really nice and helped us write a ceremony that perfectly suited us. We also included a celtic hand fasting into the ceremony which was a bit different, but again very nice.

If anyone is considering a non church wedding in Scotland (or Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Norway or USA) then I would highly recommend a humanist service.

Seen the pics on FB - Raymond has done an amazing job as usual! :)

He sure has!

:D

I actually want to go for a drive today because the Royal Wedding cleared the streets! Everyone was inside watching TV.

The driving was fine actually. I loved the roads up there! I even reversed parked back in the hired car place! Though when i went to the petrol station to fill up the tank, I accidentally took the wrong entrance and went in via the exit...only noticed it when i was in it as I realised all the cars was facing me!

Then i parked the car on the wrong side because i didn't know which side the fuel cap was. lol

Then because the Satnav already think I am at the airport, I had to find the hire car place by myself, circled the area twice before I spotted it...

Soooo glad I was alone in the car lol

Oh, and here is a couple of pic!

Congrats again MK!
