Storms kill scores in Alabama and other south US states

Note to self - Never live somewhere that is known to be a hurricane, tonado and tropical storm hotspot.

Truly insane damage, it looks like a giant hand has just flattened the place. RIP to those lost.

Heavy breathing... understandable but I mean he could've made out he was a storm chaser and was brave to be that close!

I'd be long gone haha.

rip to those gone.

2012 :(

That's a horrific mess, I can't believe how much destruction is going on at the moment down to nature. It's crazy

I'm no weather man but for the past couple of years, before and since katrina, it 'seems' to have gotten worse....#globewarming

Seems like something is going on, don't think it is global warming though because of the earthquakes and volcanoes.

Russian wild fires and heat wave
Pakistan floods
Australia floods
Katrina
The tsunami
US wildfires
Iceland volcano
Haiti earthquake
All those dead animals
China flooding
NZ earthquake
Chile earthquake
Japan earthquake/tsunami

Just spend some time looking over past events and you'll see there's no point getting all tin foil hat over it.
Worse has happened before you entered this world, or anyone on this forum.

I didn't realise this but back in 1600's there was a possible Tsunami hitting the Bristol or Severn Channel, I went and had a look the other day around redwick, there is markers of where the water came up. Around 3000 fatalities

The flood occurred around 9am on the '20th January 1606', although in the modern calendar this is the 30th January 1607. The event is recorded on plaques in a number of churches, including those at Kingston Seymour in Somerset, and in Monmouthshire at Goldcliff, St. Brides, Redwick and Peterstone.

Theres lots of reasons there 'seems' to be more happening, but there not significantly more events. As already said technology means that when something does happen, we hear about it but also the world population is booming faster than infrastructure can keep up so a lot of people are living in shoddy houses, areas prone to natural disasters and areas that are not adequetly protected against floods etc.

Also the sea levels are constantly rising which over time does afect the chances of a significant flood happening - including in the UK which we will find out the hard way unless more is invested in protection infrastructure.

Actually global serious weather events have declined. What has happened is more of them are reported due to the increase in media. Thus it seems like more events are happening.

Still it must be terrible to be in once of them. I once got caught in the tail end of a hurricane in Florida and it wasn't nice.
