** The Official Royal Wedding Thread **

Just ordered the royal wedding celebration DVD

Basically the coverage from todays service and the interview they gave to ITV.

Will keep it for my children or the grandkids in the future

Ah, I've been getting wound up by negative posts on the internet all afternoon, good to see the royal lovers are all in here! (Yes, I know, it's the official thread with stars and everything, I just hadn't spotted it!)

Personally it was pretty incredible to watch this morning. Just goes to show we're the classiest nation on the planet;) Couldn't have been a better day to take pride in our country, it certainly impressed my friends who saw it. Many who said they weren't interested beforehand couldn't turn away by the end!

It's been fantastic to have some good news for a change, and half a million people turning up in London to watch can't be wrong. Congrats to the couple and thumbs up to everyone who enjoyed the day with them.

As we had a guy redoing our garden today I was sitting reading and had the wedding on in the background and ended up watching that instead of anything else.

Felt quite patriotic towards the end and really enjoyed it.

Amazing wedding which has brought the country together.

It's nice to have a positive time/event for a change. I wish them both all the happiness for the future.

Sweet, wandered by the local British shop and they had free sarnies, tea and cakes - needless to say tucked in! And the local chippy is giving away free glasses of champagne with every fish and chips :D

They absolutely love it here, is kinda weird :p

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but Pippa (?) Middleton is quite fetching. I think he married the wrong one.

It looked as if Harry certainly had his eye on her too! ;)

She is indeed quite a looker!

Ahh man Pippa and Kate are both fine. I hope Harry is getting some from Pippa tonight, would be rude not to really.

Whilst not perhaps the most delicate way of putting things, I can't help but feel that this style of commentary would connect more with the average man in the street.

BBC take note.

"And here, the bride. Stunning, simply stunning. Bringing a new meaning to the term elegance. Beautiful, radiant and look at the honkers on that, eh? I'D BE RIGHT IN THERE! TWICE!"

Happy for my taxes to be used for todays events.

the ammount of money those extra 1 million visitors to london will have spent today will far outweigh any money given to them by the government.

All those foreign tourists staying over in hotels paying VAT, all the money the foreign broadcasters paid to be in the broadcasting boxes opposite buckingham palace (£75k per box or something i read)

Then you have all the VAT spent on food and drink by people eating out as opposed to eating in etc..

It won't have cost the tax payer a penny.

I watched this even though I had very little interest in it all. I watched it for the reason these things don't come along every so often.

Kept wanting Harry to do something mental, like crack a Hitler joke (He was married on this day in 1945) knowing his fondness of Nazi's :p

Everything was just really pretty and everything went perfectly. The little girl that kept looking upset with the level of noise made me laugh.

Anyway, t'was all quite enjoyable despite the BBC's best efforts to make every interview / studio moment ****.
