The Koran - Whos Read It?

The Quran also speaks many times of people being 'dumb, deaf and blind' yet this cannot mean in the physical sense because such people do have eyes to see etc and so are not physically blind. Instead I believe it is referring to internal vision, which again comes from God alone where the heart is cleansed and when He puts light in the heart of a believer, it is then able to gain sight and actually see the reality of things. So unlike what the modern world teaches us, which is that reality is based on what we can physically see, measure and observe, the Quran says that the heart is also capable of seeing and recognising. So I believe what will lead us to guidance and truth, or take us away from it, is what is in our hearts.

It is not one person who guides another, guidance comes from God alone. We are assured that God is 'The Just' and He has promised that no soul will be wronged, and intentions count for a lot. Everything that was hidden and concealed inside will be brought forward and the things that some people would mock, will be surrounding them. They will already know their own fate and will be cursing themselves, they will not be blaming God because in Gods court, there are no lies.

True and this is especially emphasised in Sufi Islamic Mysticism. The heart that is being referred to is the spiritual heart and not the physical heart. Having a good spiritual heart is also very beneficial for physical heart.

The emphasis of clean heart is heavily emphasised in islam and many sufi/islamic mystics have stated that once a person's heart has been cleansed from bad/lower human traits and in terms of beliefs; cleansed from all forms of polytheism then the person can see and judge things from heart.

Many times we judge a person based on his outer attributes such as character, height, wealth, intelligence, beauty etc and many times we can get that judgement wrong.
However with spiritualy illuminated heart, the person's judgement becomes deeper and he can judge and make an informed opinion quicker and accurately as he is using his heart to analyse rather than his mind.

That's why some of the renowned islamic mystics and scholars could easily figure out what was in the heart and mind of a person who was approaching them for questions. Such was the spiritual power of those personalities.

One such sufi master is Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani and considered the top saint in Islam. His teachings and saying are heavily mystics and may not be comprehensible by ordinary muslims or non muslims but a basic comprehension can be gained as to what he is saying.

As magick stated disbelievers in Quran can also symbolically mean your lower self, craving for huge wealth, excessive attachments to material things etc and which the above Shaikh talks about in his teachings.

Shaikh Abdul Qadir also quotes Quranic verses in his sayings but explains their meaning symbolically/spiritually rather than literally. When you compare the literal and symbolic meaning of some of the Quranic verses, you will be surprised how different the alternative realities are stemming from the same source Quran;).

Wasn't your gog and magog theory pretty much torn apart in that thread though?

Not in the slightest bit. There was nothing in there at all that convinced me or some others I know who also read the thread (some of whom emailed me) that the theory put forward wasn't true. Obviously you may have felt it was 'torn apart' as you probably completely disregarded all the verses of the Quran and hadith I put forward, which is what the theory was built on.

Of course that would depend entirely on how you interpret those hadith and how they relate to the Qur'an. Which was demonstrated in that thread.

Ive read it a fair few times both english and arabic versions...been reading it since the age of 7, when i first finished it off.

Pretty long hefty read and reading arabic isnt the easiest of languages to understand and comprehend.

I'm reading it now and have to say it's an amazing text. When you approach without any preconceptions nor bias instilled from the mainstream media I fail how anyone (who believes in God) can't see it's divine origin.

Also I can't how or why it's so imcompatible with the teachings of of the other prophets like Moses and Jesus. And more importantly why so many Christians and Jews see it as false, fraudulant ect.

Are there any christians or jews here that have read it?

You said it.

Some of the people in this thread i fear for what they may become, they are sliding down the path of extremism!. Scary :(

Errr possibly a contradiction there?

Wikipedia says Muhammed married a 6 year old girl. WTF?

From a historical perspective that was nothing unusual. Children were often betrothed from an early age, sometimes from birth to men often far older than them.

What is unusual, even for 7th century Medina was the claim that the marriage was consummated when Ayesha was only 9-10 years old. There are many contradictory accounts of the age and consummation of Ayesha and her marriage to Muhammed, it is more likely that she was 12-14 when the marriage was consummated and while that may still seem anathema to our modern sensibilities, it was not during the 7th century, in fact 14 was a perfectly acceptable age until relatively recently even in Europe.

You can only objectively judge these things by the morality of the time in which they happened.
