So I decided to go and grab some food for mcdonalds earlier to be met by no throttle as I went to accelrate after going round a roundabout. Decided to coast to the road to see if I could see anything obvious.

Couldn't see anything so cue the, oh **** how do I do the 4 mile journey home. After a few minutes of head scratching off came my shoe lace and a throttle tied open at about 3k rpm to get me home. Did the trip home to find out it wasn't a snapped cable but the end had come out of the pedal. If only I'd took the cover off to look at the other end

When I was about 150 miles from home, I snapped the throttle cable off at the pedal on one of the Minis I had! I also used a shoelace to connect it back to the pedal so that I could drive home. Best part was it was someone else's shoelace :D

I later fixed it with a crimp connector instead of replacing the cable which worked fine for the rest of the time I owned it!

My dad had the nipple come of the end of his throttle cable once. Bit if Mechano bodged it enough to get to the garage :)
