Hi

I have just got this case and have a problem with the front led 230mm fan.

For some reason Bios and speedfan similar programs are reporting it as running at 350 rpm and not the 700 rpm as advertised.

I have made sure nothing in the bios like Qfan is running so im a little confussed why the fan is running at half its speed?

Ive plugged the 3 pin header directly into 2 different headers on the motherboard and its the only fan i have in the case that is running at a slow speed

Any ideas guys be much appreciated
 
Can you plug the fan directly into the psu and see if there is any difference, some adapters have a sensor lead to plug into the motherboard.
 
is it possible to read the details at the center of the fan, then google the model and maker? then see what the specs for this fan are?

Yeah ive tried to use the molex fan adaptors that come with the fans but the speed is not different.

thought i had another link to the specs truned out to be the wrong fan !

Only specs i've seen are

Coolermaster 23公分風扇

Yeah im baffled by it,i must be doing something wrong,i have a different OS install to my new Mobo but that shouldn't make much difference.

Maybe the fan is simply faulty.
 
Perhaps the programs arnt reading it right.

Hold your finger against the fan, and count how many cuts you get in one minute, then divide this number by the number of fan blades = RPM:p
 
Well after spending a good 4-5 hrs on this i still cannot sort this.

I have tried Qfan options in the bios on off choosing the usual Turbo standard etc,.

I have used the AI Suite and tried all the fan options in there and cannot get the fan to increase from 350rpm

I have updated bios from 1502-1503

I have reinstalled 7 not that makes any difference,i have used all the different fan headers on the board,and also used molex fan connectors.

All of this has made no difference at all,so im positive the fan is faulty it cant be anything else i have tried everything

One Positive thing my GPUs idle temps have dropped 5c,i haven't had time to install games yet as ive been trying to sort this out

Does anyone know what CM RMA is like as im going to ask for another 230mm fan,as its far far too much hassle to return the case back to the retailer in Sheffield all for a faulty fan rpm?,if i cant get CM to give me a new 230mm fan i would ideally like to buy a 230mm fan with red leds but im not sure if this size fan with red leds can even be bought.

I would settle for different led colour if i have too.
