Hi,
I moved into a new rented flat back in Feb, and even after all this time, having already registered with RoyalMail and getting a confirmation letter off them, no system has my address or post code on :(

Anyone had this before? How long does it take to 'update' on all the various companies websites? I ask this as i forsee massive problems when it comes time to update insurances in December, as i'll have to goto each insurer manually and explain over the phone whats what, which'll take ages unless comparison sites get the new stuff.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance all. :)

i thought you had to phone them yourself?
Yeah, and once phoned, a week later i got a letter saying 'congrats, your registered'

Are we talking about a brand new build? Took me 6-12months for it all to filter through.
12 months!
Doing my insurances is gonna be a ball ache then! :(
I mean the old postcode/building number DOES come up on most sites, i suppose i should just use them should i, then tell the insurer?

Can we mention insurance comparison sites? I assume so...

Anyway, GoCompare doesn't allow me to enter nout, Compare The Market allows me to manually enter after erroring then quotes for about 15 of the 60 or so of the home insurance companies...gonna try for car quotes now..

Heres hoping its done for dec! :p

If you are now in RM's database, it entirely depends when each company next updates their own database from RM.

I had almost the exact opposite problem - two flats (house number + A/B) wrongly appeared on the RM database last year in addition to our house (the flats do not and have never existed). Cue 3x junk mail and endless demands (and court threats) for TV licence and council tax etc all for the non existent properties.
Several angry phone calls to RM later and they eventually removed the addresses (kept saying we must have added them and it couldn't be a mistake  ) took about 5 months for them to disappear from every company.

Took about 12-18months for me, (with a new road and postcode), and it was a right pain in the neck for a lot of stuff. Quite a few companies only update quarterly at best so it does take a while to come through.

Insurance wasn't a problem .... getting thing delivered was ...
